People occasionally ask me why, at seventy-six years of age, I’m still building, writing, recording, teaching, and creating something new.
The answer is simple.
There comes a time in life when your focus changes.
When you’re younger, you’re busy building a career, raising a family, and trying to make your mark on the world.
But eventually another question becomes more important.
What will remain when I’m gone?
That question has become deeply personal for me.
When I leave this planet, I don’t want to leave a memory.
I want to leave a legacy.
Not a legacy built around my name.
A legacy that helps people remember who they truly are.
A legacy that reminds future generations that even the darkest valley can become the birthplace of awakening.
A legacy that points people beyond fear, beyond religion without relationship, beyond striving, and back to the living Presence of God within.
Everything I’ve learned over these many years—every success, every failure, every heartbreak, every breakthrough—has been poured into The God Inside Way™.
This is my gift to the next generation.
Not because I have all the answers.
But because I’ve discovered that the greatest wisdom is often born through life’s greatest challenges.

Then I will know that my life became part of something that continued long after I was gone.
That is the legacy I hope to leave.

Not because I have all the answers.
It’s because I know what it feels like when life falls apart.
Years ago, from the outside, my life looked successful. I had built a multimillion-rand construction business. By most people’s standards, I had “made it.”
But success on the outside hid a very different reality within.
I was deeply unhappy.
I struggled with alcoholism, depression, panic attacks, and unresolved childhood wounds. Years in the border war had left their own scars, and I had no real relationship with God.
Then, in 1989, everything changed.
I was involved in a head-on drink-and-drive collision.
I spent a week in a coma.
When I regained consciousness, I encountered something I had never known before—a Presence so real and so overwhelming that it transformed the direction of my life forever.
I simply call that Presence, God.
That wasn’t the end of my journey.
It was the beginning.
Life would bring more valleys.
In 2014, my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. After walking that journey together, she passed away in 2017. In the years that followed, my own life slowly unraveled again.
Then, in 2025, I suffered another medical crisis. I blacked out, spent five days in a coma, and eventually received a pacemaker.
Looking back, I can see three great Dark Nights in my life.
At the time, each one felt like an ending.
Today, I see them differently.
Each became an invitation to discover more deeply who I truly was.
Through every valley, one truth continued to reveal itself:
Those experiences gradually transformed the way I understood the words of Jesus:
“I and the Father are One.” — John 10:30
God did not leave me.
The same God who met me on the mountain remained with me in the valley.
That is why Romans 8:28 has become more than a favourite verse to me.
“All things work together for good…”
It does not mean all things are good.
- Some things are heartbreaking.
- Some things are deeply painful.
But I have come to believe that even life’s darkest moments can become part of God’s greater work of transformation when we allow Him to reshape us from the inside out.
How did I move forward?
How did I rediscover purpose, peace, and joy?
Those conversations eventually became The God Inside Way™.
Not another programme.
Over the years, that understanding grew into a simple philosophy that has guided my own life and the lives of many others:
- Think as God.
- Command as a King.
- Play as a Child.
- Live as a Millionaire.
Those words are not about pretending to be someone you’re not.
They are about remembering who you were created to be.
Jesus said,
“I and the Father are One.”
From the beginning of Genesis, we are reminded that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God and entrusted with stewardship over life.
The God Inside Way™ was born from that discovery.
It is an invitation to stop living from fear, shame, and survival, and to begin living from the Presence of God within.
Today, I no longer measure success by the businesses I’ve built or the achievements I’ve accumulated.
I measure it by the lives that are transformed.
That is why I’m still here.
- Not to leave a memory.
- To leave a legacy.
Because somewhere, someone is walking through a Dark Night today.
If my journey can help them discover hope, purpose, and the Presence of God within themselves, then every valley I have walked has been worthwhile.
Perhaps that’s why you’ve found your way here.
And perhaps…
